  • Recipe:Sausages in Sticky Onion Marmalade
  • Description: A really simple way to cook sausage from your local butcher. The onion marmalade makes the base of an onion gravy to serve with the sausage and mash. Delicious.
  • Preparation Time: 2 minutes
  • Cooking Time: 35 to 45 minutes
  • Ingredients: 2 or 3 sausages per person
    4 tablespoons Onion Marmalade
    Short slurp red wine
  • Cooking Method: Place the sausages in an ovenproof dish and cook in a hot oven for about 30 minutes or until nearly done.  They need to be starting to brown.
    Drain off any fat.
    Spoon the onion marmalade evenly over the sausages.
    Return to the oven for another five minutes, or until the marmalade has melted.
    Remove the sausages from the dish and stir the red wine into the juices to make a delicious onion gravy.

    Serve

    With buttery mashed potatoes.
