Microwave Alert

Take a look at this information on a potential hazard when using a microwave.  Read the article carefully as it does point out that the phenomenon is rare and needs very specific conditions to occur.

Make sure you read the advice from General Electric and some of the responses which explain in detail how the superheating of water occurs.  It does state, clearly, that this will only happen with water with nothing in it

We have all seen this happen when heating milk - it bubbles up when you put a spoon in to give it a stir - but to a much lesser degree.

Don't stop using the microwave, but check the containers you are using.  It seems the older ones are the best ones.

Perfect Pans - they really are

At the Tastes of the World event at Fontwell Park in July, we bought a new pan from a company called Perfect Pans who were also exhibiting in the rain.  Although the event was near to Chichester in West Sussex, Perfect Pans are based in Nottingham.
